Video tracks path of hospital linen

Five children at Children's Hospital in New Orleans died from a fungal infection most likely spread through hospital linens

The Times Picayune in New Orleans toured the Associated Hospital Services healthcare laundry after it was revealed last month that five children at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans (which was served by another laundry) died in 2008 and 2009 from a fungal infection most likely spread through hospital linens.

According to the article, although a number of national associations have guidelines pertaining to safe handling of hospital linens, there is no uniform monitoring of how hospitals launder, store and distribute their linens.
