W.V. VA sends help to Hurricane Irma recovery efforts

The Beckley VA Medical Center has deployed a five-member team to Alabama


The Beckley (W.V.) VA Medical Center has deployed a five-member team to Alabama to aid in Hurricane Irma relief efforts, according to an article on the Register-Herald website. 

The facility was asked to mobilize the Mobile Medical Unit, a 38-foot mobile unit capable of providing primary care and laboratory work.

The unit includes two separate exam areas and a counseling room. 

“Facility maintenance, house cleaning and logistics all came together,” Sara Yoke, Public Affairs Officer at the Beckley VA, said. “It was serviced and fully supplied.”
