The Beckley (W.V.) VA Medical Center has deployed a five-member team to Alabama to aid in Hurricane Irma relief efforts, according to an article on the Register-Herald website.
The facility was asked to mobilize the Mobile Medical Unit, a 38-foot mobile unit capable of providing primary care and laboratory work.
The unit includes two separate exam areas and a counseling room.
“Facility maintenance, house cleaning and logistics all came together,” Sara Yoke, Public Affairs Officer at the Beckley VA, said. “It was serviced and fully supplied.”
