Website aims to reduce hospital injuries

NoInjuries.com will offer healthcare providers news, educational materials, tips, tools and resources to use throughout the workplace

By Healthcare Facilities Today

A new website, NoInjuries.com, was designed to improve the personal safety of healthcare workers, caregivers and patients, according to an article on the FacilityCare website

NoInjuries.com will offer healthcare providers news, educational materials, tips, tools and resources to use throughout the workplace. The portal will focus on:

• Infections

• Slips and falls

• Patient handling

• Workplace violence

• Patient safety

• Sharps and sticks

“Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing sector of the U.S. economy, employing approximately 17 million workers. But virtually everyone involved in healthcare is susceptible to a startling array of safety hazards,” Hans Sigvardsson, president of Handicare U.S. said in the article.

Handicare, a Pennsylvania-based provider of safe patient handling, mobility and accessibility equipment, sponsors the website.

“We believe that the vast majority of healthcare-related injuries are preventable. The key is to gain the personal buy-in of all involved individuals to support injury-reduction efforts. NoInjuries.com is aimed at focusing attention on the problem and providing education and resources to stimulate and support that commitment,” Sigvardsson
