nora co-sponsors first Bruce Newbrough CIM Scholarships


nora systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of commercial floor coverings, is co-sponsoring the first Bruce Newbrough Memorial Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program Scholarships, recently awarded to Rich Harter, installation supervisor from St. Paul Linoleum and Carpet Co.; Robert Lucio, tile superintendent from Walter Daniels Construction; Stephen Ruggeri, owner of Steve’s Carpets and Ernie Nogaleswere.

As winners of this scholarship, each recipient will receive a fully paid tuition in the CIM Program, compliments of nora systems, Inc., ARDEX Americas and the Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA).

“Bruce Newbrough was not only a friend, he was quite simply an industry icon who represented the very best of Ardex Americas and the FCICA,” says Kevin Phillips, senior technical specialist applications & products at nora systems, Inc., “I look forward to meeting the scholarship recipients and wish them all the very best with their career progress, aided by this endeavor.”

The Bruce Newbrough Memorial Scholarship was established to provide educational opportunities to floor covering installation managers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and excellence in proper substrate preparation and installation of floor covering. Bruce Newbrough, as ARDEX director of technical services and later applications development, tirelessly used every opportunity to further his vision and passion, which was industry education and training on proper substrate preparation, all for the purpose of achieving successful installations.
