A number of common lapses in healthcare facility infection prevention are most likely to lead to a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) citation, according to an article on the Outpatient Surgery website.

Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS) has released a report identifying 5 of the top citations.

One of the top infection-related citations is failure to use an approved laundry service for scrubs.

Central processing failures including inadequately monitoring the environment in central processing is another common lapse.
