Healthcare Facilities Today wishes healthcare facilities manager a happy World Facilities Management Day and National Hospital Week.

It is no easy feat working in facilities management, and when you add the healthcare industry to it, it only gets more challenging. That is why Healthcare Facilities Today takes immense pride in wishing all healthcare facilities managers a happy World Facilities Management Day on May 10th.

This year, World Facilities Management Day happens to fall during National Hospital Week. Both events celebrate the professionals that work within healthcare facilities and acknowledge the efforts these workers put in to keep patients, residents, staff and buildings safe and operational.

Not all heroes wear capes, and facilities managers prove that by saving the day with their skillset. They are aware that there is no room for error, especially in a healthcare environment where lives are at stake. Facilities managers don’t even have the time to pause, they just give everything to have in order to keep operations moving. Without them, buildings would crumple, supplies would be lost or people

While it’s important that we honor our coworkers every day of the year, maybe take the time to give them a special thanks for all their work. Or better yet, nominate them for FacilitiesNet second annual Facilities Champion award. Nominations for the award opens on May 15.

For all the healthcare facilities managers out there, we thank you for all the work that you do. We see you.

Mackenna Moralez is the associate editor for the facilities market.
