Advocate Health Care wrote flooring standards that covers all its facilities, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

Standards specify and test the physical and mechanical properties for resilient flooring and provide installation procedures. ASTM International provides a number of standards but some healthcare organizations write their own.

Advocate's standards support the system’s sustainability initiative, which called for the elimination of polyvinyl chloride from its flooring choices, as well as goals to improve workplace and patient safety and normalization of its sites, the article.
