Report: Healthcare facilities unprepared for next infectious disease outbreak

A recent report published by the British Medical Journal said healthcare facilities are unprepared for the next infectious disease outbreak, according to an article on the Medxcel website.

When the next outbreak hits, healthcare facilities are urged to lead with their emergency management (EM) team.

An EM team’s strength is the ability to convene experts, coordinate a response and develop action plans. 

Hospitals should assemble a team of experts, prepare guidance and communication and use the team as the source of information and direction.
