Healthgrades released its annual ‘America's Best Hospitals’ list

Healthgrades released its annual "America's Best Hospitals" list on Feb. 12., opting to release one list instead of its usual two, according to an article on the Becker’s Hospital Review website.

In years past, the company released the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, representing the top 250 hospitals in the U.S., and America's 50 and 100 Best Hospitals.

Recipients named among the 250 best hospitals represent the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation.

The Healthgrades analysis revealed that, on average, America’s Best Hospitals outperformed their peers in treating a core group of conditions that account for more than 80 percent of mortalities in areas evaluated, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.
