Amazon asked healthcare facilities to test Alexa’s new HIPAA-compliant technology


Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the healthcare organizations experimenting with Amazon's Alexa HIPAA-compliant technology, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.

Boston Children’s uses the application to help parents and caregivers of children who have undergone heart surgery.

The voice program allows authorized users to provide updates, such as pain levels, once the child has been released from the hospital.

Amazon recently announced Alexa has new HIPAA-compliant capabilities.
