Healthcare facility has one of the first hospital-based food pantries
Boston Medical Center’s Preventive Food Pantry was expanded this summer to meet increased demand, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
The pantry expanded storage space to accept more donations and offer more cooking classes.
The expansion includes 1,500 square feet of space and allows the hospital to distribute 12,000 pounds of food weekly.
One of the first hospital-based food pantries in the U.S., it feeds 7,000 patients a month.
