The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is supporting new dining practice standards that say nursing homes should encourage seniors to be informed on how to select the best foods to fit their needs, according to an article on the Long-Term Living website. The standards also encourage facilities to monitor diets and suggest alternatives that benefit residents while respecting their right to make choices.
