California health system to use drones for deliveries

UC San Diego Health will partner with UPS on the project


UC San Diego Health is launching a drone transport program to speed up delivery time of medical samples, supplies and documents between its hospitals, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.

The health system will partner with UPS on the project.

At first, the program will only include Jacobs Medical Center, Moores Cancer Center and the Center for Advanced Laboratory Medicine.

The program is part of an effort started last July by UPS to improve delivery of medical supplies.
