Case study: New HDTVs meet nursing home needs

The Berkley East Convalescent Hospital purchased 100 Panasonic 32-inch TH-32LRH30U LCD patient room displays, after testing models from three different manufacturers.

The Berkley East Convalescent Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., is a private nursing home that offers around-the-clock care for seniors and disabled adults, as well as post-operative rehabilitation. During a recent remodel of the facility, the owner decided to update the patient-room televisions.

The owner wanted to replace the CRT models with new professional-grade HDTVs. The criteria for the HDTVs (besides picture quality, reliability and durability) included meeting UL60065 (Annex Q) safety requirements and being able to integrate with the facility’s existing pillow speaker and audio nurse call systems.

The facility tested models from three different manufacturers and, after the evaluation, chose to purchase 100 Panasonic 32-inch TH-32LRH30U LCD patient room displays.

“… With its excellent HD picture quality, competitive price, UL60065 Annex Q Certification and ease of integration with our existing pillow speaker system, the Panasonic LRH Series LCD patient room display exceeded our expectations,” said owner Steve Galper in the manufacturer’s case study.
