State investigators have cited the Detroit Medical Center for failing to maintain adequate security in the workplace to protect healthcare and security employees, according to an article on the Deadline Detroit website.
The citation comes with a $5,000 fine and a plan to correct the problems by Sept. 19.
The facility is also under fire again for instrument cleaning practices.
The investigation found employees were exposed to violent behavior by patients and visitors that resulted in verbal threats, bites and assaults to staff.
