Drones studied for infection control possibilities

Technology may help with baby monitoring, remote health checks


Drone technology is being studied to as a possible tool to monitor babies and perform remote health checks, according to an article on the Business Cloud website.

The University of South Australia has conducted successful trials on the use of drones to remotely measure heart and breathing rates.

The researchers said the technology could help reduce the spread of infections in neonatal care.

The tech could also be used to monitor the vital signs of elderly residents in care facilities and should not become too invasive on people’s privacy, one researcher said.
