Edmonton hospital fighting influx of flies

Misericordia Hospital says flies don't pose any health risk

Misericordia Hospital in Edmunton, Canada, is dealing with an onslaught of small flies, according to an article on the INEWS 880 website.

Covenant Health officials say they’ve had pest control come in to check it out and the flies don’t pose a health risk.

In February, hospital staff said the conditions are so bad, they’re what you’d expect in the third world, according to the article. The 45-year-old hospital was scheduled to be replaced or renovated six years ago.

The hospital is planning to do a full pest control treatment of the clinic. The flies are only in the family medicine center, which is separate from the rest of the hospital.
