Linen care can sometimes take a back seat to saving a dollar in the short term


Extending the quality and life of healthcare facility linens comes with challenges, according to an article on the American Laundry News website.

Budget and staffing constraints often stand in the way of optimal linen care.

However, a well-run laundry operation can produce savings in the form of utilities, labor and linen replacement costs, the article said.

Training of staff is crucial to extend linen quality and life. If a facility is using older equipment with manual controls, staff will need to pay special attention to the selected settings on dryers and cycles on washers.
