Free webcast offered on reducing hospital-acquired infections

The CleanLink webcast's learning objectives include reviewing key infection control hot spots specific to healthcare, and discussing how reduce their risk

The CleanLink website is offering a free webcast, "Reducing Hospital Acquired Infections: A Roadmap," on March 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Beginning in 2001 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services stepped up their scrutiny of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), reducing or withholding outright payments to hospitals where patients contracted infections during or as a result of their stay. In August 2015, it was reported that 2,592 hospitals would be hit with penalties, resulting in a combined loss of $420 million.

Numbers like this are forcing health care providers to take notice and improve cleaning and disinfecting processes that result in reduced HAIs. Attendees of this webcast will benefit from an in-depth discussion of effective infection control, and learn how a roadmap to better HAI prevention and response can be implemented in a variety of health care settings.

Learning objectives:

• Discuss key statistics related to HAIs impact on CMS payments

• Analyze the need for a culture of safety in a healthcare setting

• Review key infection control hot spots specific to health care and how reduce their risk

• Learn how to establish a roadmap for HAI reduction and control via effective cleaning protocols
