Glasgow hospital lauded for hygiene turnaround

Previous inspections at Hairmyres Hospital found issues


Hairmyres Hospital in Glasgow was lauded for a hygiene turnaround after previous inspections found issues in this area, according to an article on the Evening Times website.

Following investigations on May 9 and 10, a Healthcare Environment Inspectorate (HEI) report found infection control procedures were good.

Some minor issues were raised, however, such as single use patient toiletries being used more than once, mops not being correctly stored and hand sanitiser bottles not being filled.

Also, some area staffing issues were causing pressure on nurses that were impacting on cleanliness.
