Group opposes fast food franchises in healthcare facilities

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine campaign launches ad blitz

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine campaign launched an ad blitz opposing fast food in healthcare facility cafeterias, according to an article on the Healthcare Finance News website.

The group says hospitals have a responsibility to teach about healthy eating.

The ads' catchphrase "Eat More Chickpeas" is a play on the Chick-fil-A slogan "Eat More Chicken." The ad campaign is running in cities across the country.

"We're not trying to attack anyone. Our goal is to promote good health for patients. One of the ways you can do that is by eating a more healthful diet," said Stephen Neabore, MD, a physician with the committee who practices internal medicine in Washington D.C.
