Hospital staff in South Carolina are stressing hospital safety in a flu season that has killed 46 people in the state, according to an article on the WACH website.
The American Family Care clinic in Columbia requires everyone who comes in with flu symptoms to wear masks.
Clinic staff members are also wearing face masks along with cleaning bathrooms with microbacterial disinfectant after each patient and cleaning the waiting room regularly between patients.
Other hospitals are taking similar steps. Palmetto Health Richland has even required those with flu-like symptoms not to visit any of their facilities. They're also restricting anyone under 18 from visiting as well, the article said.
