St Helens Hospital in Liverpool, U.K., was evacuated after a chemical spill was found near the operating rooms, according to an article on the Liverpool Echo website.
Nine people were checked over by paramedics after the spill. Staff and patients were evacuated from the first floor, before being given the precautionary checks.
It is thought the leak came from a piece of newly installed piece of equipment. The equipment was removed while the external suppliers look to repair the fault.
Fire officers in gas-tight suits applied absorbent mats to the affected parts of the hospital.
