How Amazon, JPMorgan, Berkshire could transform healthcare

Coalition is hoping to lower healthcare costs for the companies' employees


The collaboration between Amazon, JPMorgan Chase and Berkshire Hathaway is expected to transform the American healthcare system, but there are few details of how this will be done, according to an article on the USA Today website.

But one sign the new alliance is building momentum is that more companies are interested in joining them.

The Health Transformation Alliance, which was formed in 2015 by American Express, Macy’s, Verizon and Caterpillar, is interested in exploring ways to work together.

A main component of the coalition’s strategy is freedom from profit motives. The new company they plan to establish will not seek to profit off of healthcare, unlike the industry’s leading for-profit insurers, drug makers and many healthcare providers, the article said.
