Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, Ill., has been given a plan to improve conditions, food service, according to an article on the News-Gazette.

In its most recent rating from the federal government, the nursing home scored two stars on the five-star system.

"This is an effort to address the issues we have seen in the surveys, that we hear at our meetings, that we hear from patients," Cathy Emanuel, chairwoman of the nursing home board of directors, said at a board meeting.

Among the areas of improvement, according down the report: "The quality, timeliness, delivery and cleanliness of the food-service program at (the nursing home) needs to improve."

In its response to the point about food service, Management Performance Associates, which manages the home, said that its contractor, Healthcare Services Group, "has the food-service program headed in the right direction."
