As data become easier to share, the impact will increase


The Internet of Things (IoT) is growing in healthcare facilities as data become easier to share, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

The Internet of Things gives everything from medical devices to building systems the ability to store and share information.

Hospitals have utilized the IoT for multiple functions including asset management and controlling temperature and humidity in operating rooms.

One example is the $50 million the Mercy Virtual Care Center, Chesterfield, Mo. delivers around-the-clock care through audio, video and data connections by clinical and support staff to remotely monitor patients in four states.
