The older adults living in care communities are vulnerable in emergency situations


To ensure that first responders are in the best position to save lives and property, a disaster plan needs to be in place, according to an article on the McKnight's Senior Living website.

Facility managers should take proactive steps to ensure the first responders are as prepared as possible. These steps include:

• Sharing highly detailed property information with local responders 

• Considering the broadest range of emergency situations that occupants and visitors may face

• Conducting regular drills
