Lowell General Hospital prepares for disaster with an all-hazards plan


Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, Mass., prepares for disaster with an all-hazards plan, according to an article on the Concord Wicked Local website.

It can be difficult to plan for a wide array of possible disasters, so hospital officials have opted for an adaptable strategy, according to to Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Boldrighini.

In the event of a disaster, there's an internal notification system for hospital officials.

The hospital has multiple conduits for electricity and water into its facilities to ensure a continuity of functionality and services. 

The hospital also has backup generators in place to provide power in the event of a total outage as well.
