On January 27, 2026, Modoc became aware of unauthorized access to certain files on its network. It promptly took steps to secure its systems and launched an investigation into the nature and scope of the issue with the assistance of cybersecurity specialists.
Its investigation determined that an unknown actor accessed a limited number of Modoc systems and downloaded certain files from those systems between January 19, 2026, and January 27, 2026. Following its investigation, Modoc launched a comprehensive and time-intensive third-party review of the affected files to determine the contents of the files, to whom the information relates and identify contact information for those individuals. This review was recently completed, and relevant individuals were notified via U.S. mail.
The information impacted varies by individual, but may include: name, Social Security number, driver’s license or state identification number, financial account information, payment card information, Passport number, military identification number, medical information and health insurance information.
Upon identifying the event, Modoc promptly launched an investigation to determine its nature and scope while it worked quickly to secure its systems. Additionally, Modoc reported the event to federal law enforcement and appropriate government regulators.
