A University of Minnesota Medical Center nurse is pushing for increased security after she was attacked by a patient, according to an article on the CBS website.
When the patient began to act erratically, she called for help twice but no one came. The patient — who weighed nearly 300 pounds — attacked her twice before security arrived.
She had bruises, a neck strain and was diagnosed with a concussion. Says she now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
The nurse is calling for cameras on all hospital floors and new safety procedures.
