Nursing home infection prevention should be group effort

Environmental services and facilities management staffs need to work together


An effective infection control program is especially important during the coronavirus pandemic, according to an article on the Cleaning & Maintenance Management website.

All staff in the facility should be involved. The team should include environmental services personnel and facility maintenance staff.

Each department should identify infection control risks in their area of expertise. 

The facility management staff has a hand in infection control through water system plans that identify areas where bacteria can grow in the water, for instance.
