Ontario plans $175 million in hospital repairs and upgrades

Provincial government says it wants to ensure Ontario’s hospitals remain in good working order

Ontario is planning $175 million in hospital repairs and upgrades to ensure the province's hospitals remain in good working order, according to an article on the Inside Toronto website.

East York’s newly renamed Michael Garron Hospital is set to receive more than $2.8 million.

Other Toronto hospital benefitting from the funding include St. Joseph’s Health Centre (more than $1.3 million), St. Michael’s Hospital (more than $5.5 million), Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre ($10 million), The Hospital for Sick children (more than $4.3 million), and University Health Network ($10 million).

Funding would be used to upgrade and improve heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as install new roofs and windows among other things so that money can be better spent on caring for patients instead of paying heating bills.
