Patient room turnover streamlined with technology

UCSF Medical Center uses software to transform its patient-room turnover process

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Medical Center  streamlined its patient-room turnover process with cooperation from the nursing and environmental services staff, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

UCSF adopted the “Room Ready” model in which environmental services and nursing agree on each unit’s standard room set-up and hold each other accountable.

A new software program was used to host room turnover agreements.

Moving environmental services online brought additional benefits. Managers and supervisors got up-to-the-minute visibility to cleaning progress throughout the facility.
