By Healthcare Facilities Today

Mount Carmel Senior Living Community in Mount Carmel, Penn., celebrates its 30th anniversary with $1 million in renovations and new food choices, according to an article on the NewsItem website.

The 24-hour nursing supervision facility offers assistance for daily living, plus medical, nursing, therapy, dietary and pharmacy needs. The facility recently completed $1 million in renovations. Every hallway, resident room and therapy room updated, said dministrator Stephen M. Wetzel. Public WiFI was installed for residents and visiting family members.

Recently, the food service has been changed to a restaurant model. Residents also manage a garden of vegetables, with their crops used by the facility.

"It's improving their appetites. If they're improving their appetites, it improves their nutrition. If it improves their nutrition, it prevents illness," Wetzel said.
