Consumers more than 55 years old who are living independently as well as those in senior-oriented communities such as assisted living, skilled nursing care and life care were recently surveyed about their food service expectations, according to an article on the Foodservice Equipment & Supplies website.
The study, by Culinary Visions, identified five ways seniors yet to enter a senior living community could shake up the foodservice offerings.
According to the survey, these seniors are skeptical about dining at senior living communities and they will demand high-quality dining experiences.
They also crave fresh foods. According to the survey, these seniors will seek dining options to socialize and prefer a range of foodservice options.
