Capacity problems at Florida Hospital Orlando left one patient in the hallway for two days, according to an article on the Orlando Sentinel website.
The patient was admitted on a Saturday after he cut his hand doing yardwork and had surgery on Sunday, but there was no room available.
He remained in the hallway, separated by a partition, until late Monday afternoon, when the Orlando Sentinel contacted the hospital inquiring about the situation.
Florida Hospital officials said in a statement that the hospital has been over capacity. "We do not want to turn patients away when they are seeking acute care, and we look for options at all our hospitals to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care. At times, this means our hospitals are at or over capacity."
