By HFT Staff

Steward Health Care has acquired Abrazo Mesa Hospital, an eight-bed micro-hospital in Mesa, Arizona. The facility will be named Steward Mesa Hospital and will be Steward’s fifth facility in Arizona.

Offering 24/7 emergency services, the hospital provides additional access to patient care and short ER wait times. Located minutes from Steward’s Mountain Vista Medical Center, the facility will also improve patient outcomes by seamlessly coordinating higher-level care at the medical center as needed.

“Providing exceptional, community-based care is at the heart of what we do at Steward, and we are excited to welcome Abrazo Mesa Hospital and its excellent staff into our world class, physician-led health care system. Together with our existing hospitals, this facility will bolster our ability to serve even more patients in the East Valley – providing the care that they need right where they live,” says Damon Brown, president of Mountain Vista Medical Center and Florence Hospital, and the Steward Health Care Arizona Region Market President.
