Tenn. Hospitals Preparing Extra Space If Needed For Covid-19 Patients

COVID-19 hospitalizations are hitting new highs in the region


NewsChannel 9 has asked the three major hospitals in the Hamilton County, Tenn., recently shared their surge plans. COVID-19 hospitalizations are hitting new highs in the region.

Parkridge Medical Center, CHI Memorial and Erlanger Hospital each have plans to  create extra space within their facilities.

At Parkridge, for instance, unused areas are being converted into emergency assessment units and longer-term care rooms.

Other regions preparing for surges by erecting adjacent structures. The South Carolina National Guard has raised tents near an Orangeburg County hospital in case of a pandemic patient surge, according to an article on the WRDW website.
