Forty-three hospitals in the U.S. topped the cleanliness rankings with 89 percent or more of patients reporting that their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS Survey, according to an article on the the Becker's Infection Control and Clinical Quality website.
The national average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 74 percent.
The top five are:
• Westlake Regional Hospital (Columbia, Ky.)— 96 percent
• Osceola Community Hospital (Sibley, Iowa) — 95 percent
• Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital (Hammond, La.) — 95 percent
• Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital (Rogersville, Tenn.) — 93 percent
• Tallahatchie Critical Access Hospital (Charleston, Miss.) — 93 percent
