UK hospital trust admits health and safety asbestos issues

The Trust admits failing to ensure the safety of Watford General Hospital employees exposed to asbestos between 2000 and 2011


The NHS Trust that includes Watford General Hospital has admitted a string of health and safety violations in relation to asbestos management, according to an article on the Watford Observer.

West Herfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust pleaded guilty to five offenses stretching more than 10 years. The Trust admitted failing to ensure the safety of Watford General Hospital employees exposed to asbestos between 2000 and 2011

The Trust also admitted failing to ensure adequate information, instruction and training was given to those of its employees liable to be exposed to asbestos and failing to take the measures necessary to reduce the exposure of its employees.
