Rotterdam Eye Hospital officials incorporated design thinking and design principles into their planning process making the facility into a welcoming space, according to an article on the Harvard Business Review website.
The hospital has won a number of safety, quality, and design awards — including a nomination for the prestigious Dutch Design Award.
In addition, patient intake rose 47 percent.
