Access credentials among trends in healthcare security that help hospitals meet the challenge of securing facilities that are considered to be "open,"  according to an article on the Security Info Watch website.

With access permissions programmed into system software, healthcare staff can use credentials to access only areas they are permitted to be in. 

Wireless is another technology sweet spot in the healthcare access control market. Wireless communications in the access control and security system integration space has become inexpensive, yet reliable and secure.

When a healthcare facility has a parking structure or related building across a public street. Direct wiring is out of the question, but wireless options are available.
