Best hand-hygiene practices for a healthcare facility

Proper hand washing can help healthcare workers fight germs, bacteria and disease

Proper hand washing can help healthcare workers fight the spread of germs and bacteria in hospitals and medical facilities, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

To encourage hand washing, hand soap and sanitizer gels should be available at intervention sites throughout the building for anyone to use, the article said.

Facilities should also post signs throughout the building to remind people to wash their hands and/or apply sanitizing gel at appropriate times.
