The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System recently unveiled a new textile processing facility in Biloxi, Miss., according to an article on the American Laundry News website.
The new facility marks the first time since Hurricane Katrina that the medical center is processing its own textiles.
Hurricane Katrina destroyed the original laundry, which processed millions of pounds of soiled goods for the hospital and military stations in the area.
The facility had to send employees and laundry to Tuscaloosa and then to Houston so that laundry could be processed.
