Fauquier Health has become a network partner of Bon Secours Mercy Health through HealthSpan Partners, establishing the health system’s first hospital presence in Northern Virginia. The transaction, first announced in August following the signing of an asset purchase agreement with Lifepoint Health, officially closed Nov. 1, 2026, expanding the Bon Secours network’s statewide hospital footprint to 12.
Fauquier Health is a 97-bed acute care community hospital serving Fauquier County and the broader Warrenton region. As a network partner of Bon Secours, Fauquier Health will continue serving the community with the same physicians, providers, nurses and care teams. The hospital is expected to continue its current services and operations, subject to ordinary-course operational and strategic decisions, with no anticipated interruption to patient care.
Fauquier Health associates are expected to continue in their current roles following the transition. Integration efforts are underway to support the continuity of operations and identify opportunities alongside hospital leaders, medical staff and associates that will enhance healthcare services, capabilities and patient experience.
Following the closing, Fauquier Health is expected to continue normal operations under the leadership of Rebecca Segal, president of Fauquier Health. The hospital is expected to continue providing its current range of inpatient and outpatient services to the Warrenton community.
Bon Secours now operates 12 hospitals, as well as several freestanding emergency departments, two dozen urgent care clinics and hundreds of primary and specialty care locations serving communities across Hampton Roads, Richmond, Blue Ridge, Southern Virginia, the Northern Neck and Northern Virginia.
