Patient stung 25 times while walking near facility

The Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Canada, is battling wasps that have nested in the facility's courtyard, according to an article on the CTV Calgary News website.

One patient was stung 25 times while walking around facility.

“It was a swarm of yellow jackets,” the patient said in the article. “They chased me from the emergency door ward down to the main lobby. Then they chased me in the lobby.”

Hospital staff was informed of the location of the nest. According to Alberta Health Services, there have been no complaints about wasps at the Foothills Hospital. AHS officials say a report of a wasp nest would result in the immediate removal of the nest from hospital grounds.
