Choosing IoT tools for green buildings

Facility managers can create smart buildings with a careful eye on product selection


Savvy facility managers can go green in two ways: environmentally and financially, according to an article from Building Operating Management on the FacilitiesNet website.

Well-chosen smart systems, sensors, and HVAC units can transform buildings from “brainless” to “smart” and then to “genius” in small steps at relatively small costs.

These financial benefits can last well into the future. 

“In addition to energy and operational cost reductions, tomorrow’s buildings may offer new revenue opportunities and improved user experience,” according to Harry Smeenk, vice president of program development, Telecommunications Industry Association.
