City water crisis tests hospital’s emergency plan

Oconee Regional Medical Center was 'shut down' by water issues


Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., reverted to its emergency plan when it was "shut down" by city water issues, according to an article on the Union Recorder website.

A previous water problem caused the hospital to divert hundreds of patients.

The earlier water shortage and boil water advisory notice from city officials due to major water main breaks that led to the shutdown of the city’s water system.

One day during the latest incident, a total of 17 surgeries were canceled at the facility.
