Concerns have been raised about fire-proofing materials used in the Cumberland Infimary in Carlisle for not meeting required standard, according to an article on the News and Star website.
The required “60 minute protection standard” allows for safe evacuation and the prevention of fire spreading.
The North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust said it had for some time had “deep concerns relating to the estate and facilities management” at the hospital.
There will be work at the hospital over the next 18 months. A portable cabin that would act as a ward in the grounds of the hospital, to care for patients while work takes place.
