The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has instituted a new security policy for Children’s Hospital after police shot a wanted felon inside the hospital last November, according to an article on the WISN website.

Any law enforcement agency must now contact the sheriff’s office before doing anything at the hospital, including making an arrest or questioning suspects.

A sheriff’s deputy will also be stationed at the hospital’s emergency room at all times.

Hospital security will escort law enforcement into the building. When there is an emergency, a unified command center will form and include an incident commander from the hospital, the article said.
